Toc continue to amaze me. With every release, they only strengthen my suspicion that they are in fact the best band in the world. On first listen the idea that this collaboration is a post-jazz-rock rendering of New Orleans jazz seems nonsensical, but more listens reveal otherwise. This IS N'Awlins. Post Katrina. Toc seamlessly weave brass into their sound; the interplay is incredible. Two distinct parts; one distinct whole. This sways, staggers, strides. And it's utterly fantastic.
